We are pleased to invite you to Advancing a European Progressive Industrial Policy: Fit for the Challenges of our Time, hosted by MEPs Marc Botenga, Özlem Demirel and Marina Mesure (The Left). The discussion will take place on Thursday, 23 April, from 14:30 to 18:30 in Room SPINELLI 1G2 at the European Parliament.

The meeting addresses the critical challenges facing European industry, from the need to preserve quality jobs to navigating a new geopolitical landscape shaped by intensifying bloc rivalries. Bringing together experts, policymakers, and workers from the steel and chemical sectors, we will explore different policy approaches to supporting industrial production and consider how to plan for a viable industrial future in Europe.

The discussion will examine how to reorganize work, reduce working time, and build digital commons that serve workers and citizens. It will also consider how to build a broad front uniting labour, climate and youth movements around demands for nationalization, socialization, and European-level solidarity and coordination.
